EDI-Staffbuilders International’s journey began with a vision to serve the growing global demand for Filipino talent. 

Inspired by the success of our parent company, John Clements Consultants, Inc., our organization started its humble beginnings in Bahrain in 1978. At the time, there was a rising need for Filipino engineers and professionals in the Middle East, and we stepped forward to help meet that demand. 

What began as a focused effort to connect Filipino engineers with opportunities abroad soon evolved into a broader mission. Over the years, our experience in overseas recruitment and our strong relationships with leading international companies have allowed us to expand our reach and capabilities.

Today, our work goes far beyond national boundaries. While we remain deeply committed to promoting Filipino talent worldwide, we also provide recruitment services for professionals of many nationalities, including Americans, Europeans, Africans, Australians, Middle Easterners, and fellow Asians.

This global perspective enables us to serve our partners better and respond effectively to the evolving needs of international businesses.

From coordinating with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) for necessary accreditations and approvals, to securing visas or work permits through foreign embassies, our team ensures that every step is handled professionally and efficiently. 

We also work closely with our clients to coordinate travel arrangements, flight schedules, and candidate assistance, ensuring that every deployment proceeds smoothly.

1978 – 1989 | Pioneering Global Opportunities
EDI-Staffbuilders International, Inc. began its journey in Bahrain in 1978, responding to the growing demand for Filipino engineers and professionals across the Middle East. As oil-driven economic expansion accelerated infrastructure development in Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries, EDI played a key role in connecting skilled Filipino talent with emerging global opportunities—laying the foundation for its long-term leadership in overseas recruitment.
1989 – 1999 | Recognition and Ethical Leadership
During a period of political and economic transition in the Philippines, EDI strengthened its reputation for reliability and integrity. The company received the Outstanding Performer Award three times from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (now the Department of Migrant Workers), culminating in the Hall of Fame Award. This milestone highlighted EDI’s consistent advocacy for a strict no placement fee policy and reinforced the global reputation of Overseas Filipino Workers as dependable professionals.
1999 – 2009 | Expansion and Industry Excellence
EDI expanded into new markets and diversified job opportunities, elevating Filipino workers as world-class talents. The company earned the Presidential Award of Distinction in 2005 and the POEA Award of Excellence in 2006. Today, the EDI team includes multidisciplinary recruitment consultants, account managers, and processing specialists who collaborate to support both employers and applicants throughout the global hiring journey. With decades of collective experience, they bring deep insight into international labor markets, workforce planning, and deployment processes. The team also leverages artificial intelligence and advanced applicant tracking systems to improve candidate matching and streamline recruitment outcomes.  

Beyond technical expertise, EDI’s professionals are known for their hands-on approach.
